Within the thousands of books and videos available on golf instruction, the vast majority describe the setup position and posture as being fundamental for playing golf to ones full potential. This is absolutely true.
Contrary to some popular misconceptions held within golf, the sports science and bio mechanics experts assure us that the body motion of a golf swing has many similarities to other sporting activities, where a ball or object is thrown or hit with a bat or racquet. Taking this as fact, imagine the following. If you were going to throw a ball, as far as you could, in a given direction, would your starting position influence the result? If you were forced to sit down to throw the ball this would surely affect the outcome. Likewise, what would be the outcome if you were forced to adopt a position of excessive knee bend? Or one where your spine was bent too far forwards and the angle had to be maintained throughout the throwing movement?
In all of the above examples, it is obvious that there is an optimal starting position when throwing a ball, and if we are forced to compromise this optimal position this will negatively influence the attempted throw. Golf is exactly the same! The quality of your starting position will influence both your golf swing, and in turn, the result of your shot.
"Your Body" is the major power source in the golf swing. If you can optimise the starting position you will access this power and enhance body coordination, which will increase precision and accelerate the learning process. "Setup Engineering" ensures the optimal biomechanical starting position. Conventional equipment or "?Custom Fitting" cannot. Therefore, trust your "Anatomical Intelligence".
