I am a PGA Golf Professional with 25 years experience of teaching golfers of all levels of ability. Since becoming an MTM Partner Pro I have had the opportunity of witnessing how several of my members made vast improvements in their game using MTM Setup Engineering clubs. What impresses both my pupils and myself, is the anatomical simplicity of the address position, and because the golf swing is a chain reaction of events, their swings have become more natural, more efficient, and in my opinion, much more healthy.
When, on the one hand, it comes to helping amateur golfers fulfil their own personal potential, and making teaching simpler and more fun on the other, then it is my conviction that MTM’s Setup Engineering is the most significant development in golf in the last 80 years.

The rotation between shoulder girdle and pelvis induces high loads onto the outer fibres of the disc. Additional side-bending increases the loading even more. A setup position which is more upright decreases the side-bending and therefore decreases the loading of the disc. Therefore, the use of longer clubs is the most efficient tool to reduce the load on the spine during the swing.

The golf club concept of MTM Golf, viewed from the scientific standpoint of training and movement, resolves a long neglected area of the golf sport. This development will give many golfers room for individual variations of movement, which is orientated on personal requirements and capabilities.

Prior to 1920 golf clubs were all handmade for the individual concerned. After 1920 and the invention of the steel golf shaft, golf clubs began to be mass produced and sold off the shelf. At this point in time a "standard length" golf club was born. What criteria, statistical data or scientific evidence were used to define this standard is not known! This standard is still in use today with minimal length differences between different manufacturers. During the nineteen seventies Karsten Solheim founder of the "Ping golf company" introduced "Custom Fitting" to the golf market. There have been some small adjustments and elaborations but the same "Custom Fitting" methods are still today's accepted norm for personalising the length of golf clubs.
The whole concept of standard golf clubs and the custom fitting methods derived from this standard are fundamentally flawed for the following reasons:
1: As mentioned there is no solid foundation for the "standard length" and no explanation for its existence, i.e. what criteria, statistical data or scientific evidence were used to define it. This would not be accepted in a scientific debate.
2: Since 1920 there has been a dramatic increase in the average height of human beings. This increase has been completely ignored by the golf industry. If the standard length golf club had increased proportionally to the increase in average height, then the standard length today would be around 3 inches 7,62cm longer. The maximum increase in golf club length when using a "Custom fitting" method is only 2 inches 5,08cm. Setup Engineering and MTM Golf can produce a golf club up to 7½ inches 19,05cm above the traditional standard...click here to read on
MTM Golf’s unique "Setup Engineering" measuring system, which has been available for several years, makes it possible to calculate an optimal, bio mechanical address position for every golfer. Based on these calculations we build Made To Measure golf clubs according to your own personal specifications. With our models "The Bird" and "Nova" we offer golf equipment of the highest quality.
MTM is proud to announce that Wayne Hachey, MTM Golf General Distributer Canada, will open the new Desert Golf Academy in Osoyoos B.C. Canada in April, 2011. The Desert Golf Academy will feature state of the art golf teaching equipment and will provide golf students with Wayne’s accumulative knowledge of MTM Golf.

Walter Bubar of Osoyoos, B.C. Canada recently scored a hole in one at the beautiful Bear Mountain Ranch in Chelan, Washington on September 24th. Bubar used his new MTM Golf Club on the 196 yard 11th hole. “It was the best hole in one I ever seen”, witnessed by Wayne Hachey (MTM Golf Canada) as well as MTM Golf playing partner Bob Bruyere. “We were all watching the perfectly struck shot go towards the flagstick and all of a sudden “BANG” it hit the flagstick, we all thought it was a good shot but a shot hitting the flagstick so hard must have deflected. Upon arriving at the green, we could not see the ball anywhere so I looked in the hole. THERE IT WAS, not a ball mark on the green, so we figured it must have flown directly into the hole.”

Congratulations to Wayne Hachey for winning his 2nd club championship at Osoyoos Golf & Country Club, BC, Canada, playing MTM golf clubs.
well done Wayne!
