The rotation between shoulder girdle and pelvis induces high loads onto the outer fibres of the disc. Additional side-bending increases the loading even more. A setup position which is more upright decreases the side-bending and therefore decreases the loading of the disc. Therefore, the use of longer clubs is the most efficient tool to reduce the load on the spine during the swing.

NOVA SERIES RELEASED IN NORTH AMERICA!

The first 2 sets of the new MTM Nova Series went out to Bob Bruyere and Terry Yusep of Osoyoos,B.C. Canada. Both Yusep and Bruyere have had the previous BIRD iron but when Wayne Hachey (MTM Canada) told the two long time golfers and friends of the new technology advancements that MTM has brought to their new design, the two could hardly wait to get their hands on them. Yusep a former 15 handicap who has played the game for over 40 years has gone to a 10 handicap with the MTM fitting system. “ I have known Wayne for many years and followed his professional career with his Hi5 Pro Tour and when he mentioned this unique fitting system that MTM offered I was very curious to try it out! I immediately saw an increase in distance and the straightness of my shots improved.” Yusep recently has shot 7 games in a row in the 70’s and now he feels with the new NOVA series he can shoot his age of 75! Bruyere has also enjoyed the benefits his game has seen, the 62 year old and former 10 handicap has added 2 clubs in distance. “Where I used to hit my 7 iron I now hit a 9 and the ball flight is incredible”. I have now played the clubs for more than a year and this summer my handicap index was down to 5.2. I have played golf for more than 45 years and have seen a lot of different club designs during this time, but when I was exposed to the MTM fitting system, I knew after hitting them the set up position was more natural and it felt great for my lower back. The set up engineering position allows me to accelerate through the ball equaling more distance as well as a straighter ball flight.”
